Pepper goes in the shaker with the least amount of holes and Salt goes in the shaker with the most amounts of holes. What’s interesting is that in Europe it was difficult to get your hands on Pepper since it’s a spice from the Orient (very exotic) but it was used to spice up meat that had been left out a little too long.
